Understand the basics of Python programming.

Introduction to Python

Python is an interpreted, high-level language known for its simplicity and power. It's widely used for web development, data science, automation, and more.

print("Hello, Python!")

Why Learn Python?

  • Simple, readable syntax
  • Huge ecosystem of libraries
  • Great for beginners and professionals alike

Common Errors & Troubleshooting

  • SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print' — you're running Python 2 syntax (print "hello") on Python 3. Always use print("hello") with parentheses.
  • python: command not found — on many systems the Python 3 interpreter is called python3, not python. Try python3 instead, or check python --version to see what's actually installed.
  • Nothing happens when you run the file — make sure you're running it with python filename.py from a terminal, not just opening the .py file by double-clicking it (which closes the window instantly on most systems).

Try It Yourself

name = "World"
print(f"Hello, {name}!")
